pasta

Pasta always inspires, but sometimes people misinterpret its qualities and confuse the way of preparation. They share with their friends their “knowledge”, which also deviates from the truth. Thus the myths about the pasta are born. Find out which are the most common ones to make sure your dish will be great!

  1. You can tell when the paste is ready by throwing it to the ceiling and it sticks.

This may sound fun or unbelievable, but there are people who believe that this way you can check how well their macaroni and spaghetti are boiled. In fact, you can throw as much pasta as you want on the walls and the ceiling, but that would only make the cleaning difficult. The true al dente4 flavor
is achieved by following the instructions on the pack and testing your pasta or spaghetti during cooking. Any other methods are a myth.

  1. You do not need too much boiling water.

You really need it. Most recommendations are to prepare your macaroni and spaghetti with about 2 liters (and even more) of water for every 500 grams. Why? This helps avoid having the pasta stick together because it provides more space for each piece of pasta to get ready without having to stick with others.

  1. Rinse with cold water after cooking.

You really do not need this unless you want to make a pasta salad. Applying this myth will wash out the starch. In addition, (after rinsing the pasta) the sauce is very likely to just slide off the ready pasta without being able to cling well.

  1. The water does not have to be absolutely hot.

Boiling water is actually is mandatory, because it prevents the sticking of your pasta. At the same time, it helps raw macaroni or spaghetti to boil really well and acquire this authentic and rich flavor that every chef strives for.

Remember that for the most delicious pasta you need a good product and a good chef! Bon Appetit!
